We love the 2019 Hyundai Elantra here at Van Horn Hyundai of Sheboygan. Last year, we saw the Hyundai Elantra come with a slew of fantastic updates that not only added to the luxury of the vehicle but also brought it into the present. Now, the 2020 model is doing the same.
Hyundai automakers are not the type to sit back and relax; they’re continually working to improve their vehicles, and that’s been evident the last several years. Significant updates to the 2020 Hyundai Elantra include additional standard features, better driver safety assist technology, and a new transmission. Here, we’re going over the highlights.
One of the most significant updates is that each 2020 Hyundai Elantra model now offers front collision assist. The technology uses the front-facing camera to detect an impending collision, warn you, the driver, and automatically apply the brakes should you fail to do so in time. Other standard features now include lane-keeping assist and a driver attention warning, which alerts you if it detects driver fatigue.
The 2020 Hyundai Elantra also now rides on a new continuously variable transmission (CVT) that replaces the six-speed automatic transmission previously found in most trim levels. The CVT transmission also improves fuel efficiency.
One area that’s remained is the list of engine options in the 2020 Hyundai Elantra. The standard engine is a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 147 horsepower. If you opt for the Eco model, you’ll get a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 128 horsepower. The Sport model offers a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that makes 201 horsepower.
